Verena Katharina Affolter

1982     graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Bern, Switzerland 

1984     Dr. med. vet. (doctoral thesis), University Bern, Switzerland 

Pathology training at University Bern Switzerland and Cornell University, Ithaca. Specializing in dermatopathology and immunopathology. 

1991     FVH Pathology (specialization in veterinary pathology), Switzerland 

1992 -  moved to Davis and worked with Peter Moore on histiocytic lymphocytic diseases 

1998     Diplomat of the ECVP (European College of Veterinary Pathology) 

1999     PhD Comparative Pathology, UC Davis 

Professor at University California Davis and since 2010 Chief of Service of Anatomic Pathology at UCD.  

With Dr. Outerbridge established a Dermatopathology &Dermatology Consultiung Service 

Specia interests: dermatopathology, immunopathology, histiocytic and lymphoid proliferative diseases,  vascilitis, chronic progressive lymphedema in horses.
