Dr. Annette Romeike received her veterinary degree from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Hannover, Germany, in 1993, completed her doctorate thesis at the Institute of Pathology in 1995, and her residency in 1996. She became ACVP board-certified in 1999 and held positions as Junior pathologist at Bayer (Germany), and from 1998 several positions as Senior Pathologist, Scientific Project Lead, Therapeutic Area Leader (Antivirals) and Senior Director at Pfizer Global R&D in France (Amboise), before working as independent consultant in Toxicologic Pathology and Preclinical Drug Development from 2009 till 2012. She joined Labcorp in 2012 as Director of Pathology Europe & Toxicology in France, and has since 2016 a global Scientific Director role heading the Münster Pathology team, focusing on nonhuman primate pathology and development of innovative therapies. Dr. Romeike has a long track record of active leadership in the European Society of Toxicologic Pathology as a founding Board member, with several councilor positions, served many years as secretary before becoming ESTP president from 2010-2012, and continues to chair the ESTP Committee of Scientific Standards. Since 2010 she promotes the collaboration of STP and ESTP as liaison on the Scientific and Regulatory Policy Committee (STP-SRPC), and continues to be actively involved in fostering the collaboration of international STPs. Dr. Romeike has an active publication and presentation record and is a Fellow of the International Academy of Toxicologic Pathology.
