Dr. Alok Sharma is currently serving as Director Global Anatomic Pathology and site-lead for the Madison, WI, USA site for Labcorp Biopharma Laboratory Services. He is a diplomate of American College of Veterinary Pathologists and the American Board of Toxicology. Dr Sharma holds a PhD in Experimental Toxicologic Pathology from Purdue University, where he also completed his residency in Anatomic Pathology. His graduate research work focused on a model of mesial temporal lobe epilepsy during his fellowship at Eli Lilly and Co. In 2007, Dr. Sharma joined Covance Laboratories Inc. (now Labcorp), where he currently leads a global team of anatomic pathologists and specializes in nervous system-focused studies. Dr. Sharma has co-authored over 45 publications, including peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and has presented at ACT, ACVP, STP, ESTP, IAVP, STPI, IATP and MRC-SOT conferences. He has participated as a neuropathology expert on PWGs and chaired and co-chaired various committees, including the STP Education Committee, STP Special Interest Group in Neuropathology, STP Annual Symposium Committee, ESTP SOC, and several working groups including PNS, DRG, rodent nervous system INHAND group, and non-human primate and dog INHAND groups.
